Polypropylene is more resistant to frequent washing and drying at high t° than e.g. clear plastic. For larger quantities, volume discounts are possible.

The focus on sufficient fluid intake, swallowing difficulties and independence is increasing. There is a wide choice of functional and contemporary cups that meet these needs.
Hard plastic cups have the advantage that they are often extra transparent and therefore look nicer.
Please note, however, that any hard plastic cup will develop tiny damages (micro cracks or discoloration) with frequent use in an industrial dishwasher and will therefore not last forever; also always make sure that these cups are not stacked inside each other during the cooling phase before they have completely cooled down.

The dishwasher safe indication used by the manufacturer is therefore relative and often limited to domestic use.
