Collecta horses: Dartmoor pony The Dartmoor is a small hardy pony and comes from the Dartmoor area in the far south west of England. The area is a wild highland with peat bogs and rocky mountain peaks. The Dartmoor has been bred there for hundreds of years. As early as 1898, the National Pony Society set up a local committee to introduce a breed standard and to inspect ponies that met this standard.
